STORY

THE FUTURE HAS BEGUN.

The 22nd century: In the not too distant future, humanity sets off to explore space more deeply.

The first probes reach the nearest solar system “Proxima Centauri” and deliver amazing results: This distant star system is much more stable than previous long-range scans indicated.

The first manned flights followed a short time later and they confirmed the unthinkable: Earth-like planets! The journey to a new world could finally begin! ...

CENTERRA AND THE BIRTH OF “BOTS”

In 2120, the first settler ships reached the remote system and laid the foundation for the first extra-solar colony: This new world was christened “Centerra”.

Resources were plentiful and the unexplored jungle harbored many primitive creatures. Mostly harmless...

To construct and defend the settlements special robots were developed to help the people. To make it easier for the Bots to enter society, researchers developed the “MOJO” chip, which filled the Bots with emotions.

THE CATASTROPHIC DISASTER...

What followed was a devastating event that no one had anticipated:

Thanks to enormous emissions of ionized magnesium, life-threatening radiation on Proxima Centauri rose steadily until the planet was uninhabitable. Chaos broke out: The people fled into the deep caverns of the mountains or escaped the planet with the last functioning spaceships.

The “Bots” were disabled by the radiation, remaining alone and left behind in the ruins of the habitats...

... PHOENIX RISING FROM THE ASHES!

It took 30 years for the radiation to reach normal levels again. Gradually, the bots began reactivating and started to think about their situation. Using all of the still functioning memory banks from the colonies, they decided... to survive!

From the ruins of the outpost of humanity, they formed a new, independent civilization. But who should lead it?

Through their knowledge of humanity they came to the conclusion that this question must be decided by the survival of the fittest, just as biological evolution had before.
